Vietnam 2025 — A Journey Through Heritage, Water, and Light
The planned eleven days trip to Vietnam was reduced to four days due to the approaching typhoon. However, the four days in Vietnam unfolded like a tapestry of colour, culture, and landscapes shaped by water and time. From the historic heart of Hanoi to the limestone peaks of Ninh Binh each moment revealed a different rhythm of the country — vibrant, reflective, and deeply alive.
The journey began in Hanoi, a city where ancient temples stand beside French‑colonial boulevards and the Old Quarter hums with life. Visits to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature offered a window into Vietnam’s history and scholarship, while evenings in the night market brought a swirl of street food, lanterns, and local energy.
A day on the waters of Ha Long Bay revealed another side of Vietnam — towering limestone islands rising from emerald seas, caves carved by centuries, and quiet moments kayaking between cliffs.
Travelling south led to Ninh Binh, where rivers wind through rice fields and karst mountains. The Trang An boat tour carried you through caves and mirrored waterways, each bend revealing a scene worthy of a painting.
A sunrise hike to the Hang Mua Viewpoint offered sweeping views of the valley — a landscape of peaks, paddies, and winding rivers glowing in morning light.
